Course FAQ
Are your camps for boys or girls?
All of our camps are co-ed and available to everyone. Both boys and girls have shown interest in the material and have attended our camps.
Will there be "hands-on time" for the kids or is the camp purely informational?
Yes, the camps are definitely hands-on. The kids will be learning techniques and then using those techniques on the computer with our assistance.
How do I know if my computer is powerful enough?
A good rule of thumb is to use a computer that's five years old or newer. If you have any doubt, please install the software prior to registering to ensure it will run well enough.
Where can I get the necessary software for this camp?
You can download and install the latest version of Zoom for free from zoom.us. You'll need to sign in before downloading.
You can download and install the latest version of Sublime Text for free from here.
HTML and CSS do not need to be downloaded because they are already included with your web browser.
What do you mean by a modern web browser?
This class requires that you have installed the latest version of Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge to ensure compatibility. Browsers that will not work include: Internet Explorer or older versions of the browsers previously mentioned.
Why do you require Sublime Text?
We require that you install Sublime Text because this text editor has "syntax highlighting", which greatly helps campers identify problems with their code. Sublime Text is available for both Mac and Windows computers.
