Description

We're excited to expand our ever popular 2D Video Game Design camp into 3D.  Campers have fun learning the basics of 3D video game design using Unreal Editor. They will create and build their own games on their computers so they can play with their friends!

Prerequisites

None.  ​No prior computer programming experience is necessary.

What You'll Need

• A new/recent PC or Mac desktop or laptop with a web camera.  NOTE: A chromebook or tablet (iPad, Surface, etc.) will not work.
• A stable internet connection.
• The latest, free version of Zoom.
• The free creator's license of Unreal pre-loaded onto your computer.

Course FAQ

Are your camps for boys or girls?

​All of our camps are co-ed and available to everyone.  Both boys and girls have shown interest in the material and have attended our camps.

Will there be "hands-on time" for the kids or is the camp purely informational?

​Yes, the camps are definitely hands-on. The kids will be learning techniques and then using those techniques on the computer with our assistance.

How do I know if my computer is powerful enough?

A good rule of thumb is to use a computer that's five years old or newer.  If you have any doubt, please install the software prior to registering to ensure it will run well enough.

Where can I get the necessary software for this camp?

You can download and install the latest version of Zoom for free from zoom.us.  You'll need to sign in before downloading.
